The "Région académique de Bourgogne Franche-Comté", the French education authority for the Bourgogne Franche-Comté area, was present at the launch meeting of the PITCHER project on January 27 and 28, 2022, and wished to be heavily involved in this action. On June 15th, 2022, a group of six teachers – a librarian and five history-geography teachers - was trained to help produce resources for teachers so that they could integrate the issue of looting and trafficking of cultural goods into their lessons. This action has been realized in the framework of the first step of the project: state of the art of the existing resources and identification of the teacher's needs.
The day began with a presentation of the PITCHER project by Pier Giacomo Sola of the Michael Culture Association, followed by a description of the phenomenon of looting and trafficking in cultural property. The way in which this subject is dealt with at the Bibracte Museum with pupils then gave rise to a rich exchange between the participants and Oriane Rousselet, who is in charge of the cultural mediation. The day ended with a workshop on French school curricula in order to identify the points that would enable this subject to be issued in the various disciplines.
The participants: Pascale GOUTAGNY, Academic Inspector - Regional Pedagogical Inspector for History-Geography, Éric GADY, Academic Delegate for Cultural Action, Rémi LEGROS, teacher at the College Les Epontots in Moncenis and egyptologist, commissioned by the Rectorat to accompany the PITCHER project, Laurent SALVADOR, teacher at the Gustave Courbet high school in Belfort and assigned to the Montbéliard Museum, Jacques KOMORN, teacher at the Lycée Carnot in Dijon and assigned to the Dijon Archaeological Museum, Mélanie FOREST, teacher at the Collège Michel Brezillon in Orgelet and assigned to the Lons-le-Saunier Archaeology Museum, Nicolas ANGLES, teacher at the Collège Hubert Reeves in Epinac and assigned to the Bibracte Museum, Sophie LEFEBVRE, teacher at the Collège Emile Lepitre in Laignes and assigned to the Châtillon Region Museum - Vix treasure.
